This story is all about how twin fin surfboards lately became so popular. Twin surfboards nowadays are bit of blast from the past as they combine traditional with performance.
I’ve shaped for my self and for fellow surfers some twinnies and that’s wayyy back… I would say though most of them would be like 65% traditional and 35% performance. Like less rockers, flattish decks, fuller rails, but surfboard evolution kept going and 2016-2017-2018 I designed and started experimenting, shaping, refining so many different twinnies, looking to find this perfect balance of a well refined twin surfboard that you would even go at the surf shop and buy new fins to try out. Well this worked, I tried out many different twin fin sets during this period of time. It worked...
More less what I’m describing is the birth of El Dios Zeus surfboard model. All R&D and prototyping took place in Athens, Greece at my shaping room. I guess as a shaper and not a pro surfer this sounds more of my type of surfing lately. Like every time I surf with my shortboard it’s so and so but it’s almost perfect every time I surf with ‘El Dios Zeus’.
Still it took me three years and maybe another refinement of the model might come, but that’s what I love in this process, designing surfboards looking out for perfection.
