In the month of September a freak storm occurred in the seas of Spain and Italy generating a swell that reached the coasts of Greece. The team at Cohete Surfboards was super excited because the conditions appeared when team rider Alex Maniatis, was going to be visiting Athens to discuss the shaping of his new boards with shaper JT. Quickly a small team of Cohete’s finest, consisting of John Tsoutis, Italo Soracco, Alex Maniatis and the filming crew set out at the crack of dawn to chase the swell. First spot Agrili! The team paddles out and boom! Arials, snaps, cutbacks and tail slides. The team rips up the spot. “Get the boards in the car guys and lets hit the next spot!” After checking 2-3 more spots we finally make the decision to hit Methoni. A beautiful Greek landscape with a picturesque medieval castle built in the 1500’s. Gear up, roll the cameras, the spot is pumping! Maniatis grabs his 5’10”x18.88”x2,45” 27.9lt AMS carbon stringer and Italo grabs his 5’10”x18.88”x2,45”27.6lt AMS carbon stringer (patent pending) and paddle out to their own line up! Ample space, no other surfers, great waves and still wearing board shorts. The team rips up the spot again! Next day well lets not tier out our readers but guess what we ripped up 2 more spots Agrili and Lagouvardos drank a shit load of freddo cappuccino and ended up eating roasted pigs in a local Greek street market/panigiri! Alex still cant believe that there is such good surf in Greece and he is still buzzing from all the freddo cappuccino he’s been drinking! Check out some of the flicks and enjoy!
