Cohete Surfboards's team rider Alex Maniatis attended Taiwan Open of Surfing at Jinzun Harbour hosted by Taitung County government this November. When left from Austalia Alex, got with him a quiver of his signature pro model Cohete AMS (2 x 5'10"x19.00"x2.5" 28.5lt and 1 x 5'11"x19.00"x2.5" 28.8lt).
Blustery were the conditions at Jinzun Harbour. Surfers were faced with wild conditions for the opening day which ran through all of Round 1 and 6 Heats of Round 2 in windy 3 foot waves and spray would get in the eyes which made it tough.
However, Alex made it to day two but he was eliminated at the final sixteen contestants. "It feels good to get a win even though I was eliminated. It was definitely an interesting experience for me."
With the same, tought conditions on the final day, with 4-foot waves and strong cross-shore winds, Indonesian surfer Oney Anwar won the first place at the Qualifying Series.
