On Sunday the 22nd of October 2017 and in coherence with the 2nd Pan Hellenic Medium Distance SUP League, the 2nd Open SUP Challenge: Corinthian Canal Crossing 2017 took place. The event was sponsored by Cohete Surfboards and took place on the historic canal under amazing conditions. The atmosphere was warm and there were around 65 participants. Cohete’s SUP Team riders were there with their full carbon R1 Race SUP, and the team managed to pick up a lot of medals making the team proud. Katia Vlisidi from team Cohete positioned 1st in the woman’s 14” SUP race. Eleni Gerondi finished 1st on her Cohete R1 Race SUP in the woman’s 12’6” division. In the men’s events the Cohete team wiped the medals board clean with the team riders finishing on the podium for both events. More precisely Petros Lazopoulos finished 1st, Tasos Galanis 2nd and George Andreopoulos finished 3rd, which was an amazing result for the Cohete 14” SUP Team. The Mens 12’6” event was also a great success with our team riders Giannis Tountas and Stelios Moustakalis taking 1st and 2nd place respectively. These results prove that the R1 is the best racing SUP for all water conditions and that the Cohete SUP team is one to look out for both in the men’s and woman’s SUP races. We wish our team riders great winter training sessions and hope to see them fit and with great health for the upcoming season in 2018.
