EPS-EPOXY-CARBON STRINGER-CARBON WRAP
This surfboard construction is our latest and most advanced eps epoxy carbon fiber technology. There is a tremendous amount of research and ongoing development realized in this technology and we are pursuing the patent as no other surf brand has yet to come up this type of surfboard construction. The core is a 23kg/m³ EPS high density foam which makes for a very responsive and lively feeling but does not feel like the board over floats as with other epoxy technologies. The cutting edge construction used for the stringer of the surfboard is a uni-directional 3k carbon tape. In the glassing process on the bottom and deck side of the finished blank we place a hybrid carbon cloth for excess endurance and increased momentum flex characteristics. We use one sheet of 4oz fiberglass cloth on the bottom side to keep the board light weight and responsive. On the top side we use two sheets of fiber glass so as to ensure extra strength and durability were its needed the most. The fiber glass is coated in fast curing epoxy resins with UV additives, as in all our epoxy boards, to ensure greater durability and protection against the sun. Futures or FCSII fin plugs are attached depending on rider preference.
This technology is our standard method of construction, it produces that all time classic feeling of response and stiffness. We use only the best A-grade light weight PU foam cores combined with the finest quality wooden stringers in the shaping process, produced by some of the leading manufactures in the industry. In the glassing process we use a combination of one layer 4oz fiberglass for the bottom side and two 4oz fiberglass cloths for the deck side from Hexcel, Nuplex E-glass and S-glass fabrics. Our PU/EPOXY technology is our most most durable, lightweight and eco friendly form of construction that retains “that great PU feeling” when surfing. Surfboards made from this technology are more durable (break resistant) compared to PU/POLY surfboards due to the epoxy resins used in glassing. Epoxy resins are known to have increased dynamic strength characteristics and are considered to be more eco friendly compared to polyester resins. Our PU/EPOXY series feature carbon tail patches for reinforced strength, increased pop and less bumps from back foot surfing. Futures or FCSII fin plugs attached.
This form of construction produces that all time classic surfing feeling of a stiff yet responsive surfboard. We use light weight A-grade PU foam cores combined with the best quality wooden stringers, produced by some of the leading manufactures in the market, Bennett Foam, US Blanks and Arctic Foam. In the glassing process we use one layer of 4oz fiber glass on the bottom side and two layers of 4oz fiber glass on the deck side. The polyester resins we use to coat the fiber glass contain UV additives that protect the surfboard form yellowing and have increased strength characteristics. Our PU/POLY surfboards have carbon tail patch reinforcements to increase pop and reduce bumps from back foot surfing. Futures or FCSII fin plugs attached.
SURF KITEBOARD TECHNOLOGY
PU/EPOXY is our standard method of construction for Cohete kite surfboards which produces that all time classic feeling of response and stiffness. We use A-grade light weight PU foam cores and fine quality wooden stringers from some of the leading manufactures in the industry. In the glassing process we use one layer of heavy duty 6oz fiber glass on the bottom side and two layers of heavy duty 6oz on the deck side produced by Hexcel and Nuplex E-glass fabrics. We use fast curing epoxy resins that contain UV additives for preventing the kite surfboards from yellowing. PU/EPOXY is a very durable form of construction while retaining the great PU feeling when kite surfing. Kite surfboards made from this technology are super durable due to the epoxy glassing. Kite surfboards come complete with graphics, 3-hole inserts and high-low traction pads. Futures or FCSII fin plugs are attached.
This advanced method of construction for kite surfboards is formed using a vacuum bag building technique. We use a light density EPS foam core sandwiched between 2mm real wood sheets (deck & bottom side) coated with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin placed in a vacuum bag. The materials are vacuum formed under pressure to produce the final kite surfboard. This manufacturing process has become very popular over the last few years due to its great strength to weight ratio. EPS/WOOD is the most durable technology on the market while at the same super lightweight. Kite surfboards come complete with graphics, 3-hole strap inserts and high-low traction pads. Futures or FCSII fin plugs attached.
EPS/CARBON construction is a light weight performance technology used in our top of the line SUP boards. The low density (16kg/m3) EPS foam core is wrapped in full carbon fiber (deck & bottom side) coated with epoxy resins placed in a vacuum bag and and vacuum formed under pressure. This SUP manufacturing technique has become very popular over the last few years as it offers great strength to weight ratio. SUP wave boards up to 9ft in length weigh 7.5kg and SUP race boards which are up to 14ft weigh around 10.5kg. SUP boards come complete with a high low traction pad, a decompression metal valve with rust resistance properties, a comfortable carry-easy handle box and have graphic layers. This durable top of the line lightweight technology can be found in our race and wave performance SUP’s.
EPS/BAMBOO is the most durable and lightweight construction technology used on our SUP boards. We use a low density EPS foam core (16kg/m3) sandwiched between 3mm bamboo sheets (deck & bottom side) coated with fiberglass cloth, epoxy resin and placed in a vacuum bag. The materials are vacuum formed under pressure to produce the final SUP board. This manufacturing process has become very popular over the last few years due to its great strength to weight ratio. SUP boards come complete with a high low traction pad, a decompression metal valve with rust resistance properties, a comfortable carry-easy handle box and have graphic layers. This technology offers a significant good looking SUP board coherent with Cohete surfboard’s brand identity.
EPS/EPOXY construction technology has been developed to maximize durability for our SUP boards. In the glassing process we use a low density EPS foam core (16kg/m3) wrapped with three layers of 6oz fiberglass cloth (deck & bottom side) and coated in heavy duty epoxy resin reinforcements. SUP boards come complete with a high low traction pad, a decompression metal valve with rust resistance properties, a comfortable carry-easy handle box and have graphic layers. This durable technology is a great option for All Around SUP boards.
Double PVC technology is the most durable form of construction found in I-SUP (Inflatable Stand Up Paddle boards) production. This I-SUP technology has been developed to maximize durability. The inner core is made of nylon drop stitch material and wrapped in a double layer of PVC sheets for maximum endurance. Unlike many other I-SUP companies that use less effective vinyl sheets we emphasize on quality and manufacture I-SUP boards using the industries leading PVC companies to provide us with the best materials on the market. Our I-SUP range comes with high quality air valves to secure air tightly in the I-SUP and handle straps both on the nose and tail area to carry the board with ease when inflated. I-SUP boards come with a removable fin system (single fin and side fins) so it’s easier to carry and store when not inflated. This technology can be found in both or I-SUP All Around boards and I-SUP Touring models.
SOFT BOARD TECHNOLOGY
This has proven to be the most break resistant technology available for soft boards at the moment. It is constructed of a low density EPS (16kg/m3) foam core that has two parallel wooden stringers running through the middle. The EPS core is wrapped deck side and bottom side with a 6oz fiberglass cloth layer to seal, protect and stiffen up the inner core. The deck side is finalized with an extra soft foam layer ideal for learning while the bottom of the deck is coated with a hard shield skin to maximize water flow and endurance. All these materials have been formed and glassed with epoxy resin in a press to ensure a strong bond and a finished board that will last forever. Our soft boards come with a removable fin system so you can change from soft to hard fins allowing the board to be very versatile.
